rx7 may look handsome but it's reputation for breaking is high. that car is crappy build. compare that to the s2000, itz way similar to domestic build. s2000 is pure sports fun. u can wind down curvy road with open tops and have fun more than supra/rx-7/300zx/etc.......... if u like straight lines and going fast. get a crx and put itr engine in it with 50shot of nos. should cost only around $8000. u can smoke anything with that if u like straights.

that 4.9sec 0-60 from R&T was a misprint. read the issue the following month. they accidently placed the NSX's numbers in the S2000 box.

nice 911 turbo p996tt2k!! i wish i could afford one of those. would love to hear your opinions on driving it. and the FD is one of the best looking i've seen on this board. very clean. and love the japanese updated front end and rear spoiler. did you own a s2000 in the past as well??

for me, if i could afford to throw away $5K-$10K on maintanence each year, I would've gotten the 3rd gen RX-7. It is a purer sports car than the S2000 IMO, and handling is more progressive. However it is missing the soundtrack of a NA piston engine, which is all part of the sensation of going fast.

I love the S2000... It is everything I have ever wanted... but as others have said, unlike the rx7 it was not made to drag race... For this reason the rx7 could SPANK an S2000... you can go to www.rx7zone.com/mycar and check out some videos of my brothers(RIP)... the 300zx that ran in the vids was a tt with $10,000 in mods... the lightning was modded too... I love my S2000 more than anything, but I think it would be worth getting the turbo just to hear the SChhhhuuuuuh when you change gears 8)

p996tt2k, a while back, it WAS your car that I saw. I didn't know the JDM rear wing was that big. Drove right next to it...anyways, old news now, haha. Hope to see you around town during spring break.

I too own the 3rd generation RX7 as many T.I.T.S. members know. It is now sold to a marine living in Palm Desert. My main gripe about that car is the fact that the heat generated by this car due to the twin turbos and rotary engine packed so tightly into this car can do havoc with the rubber vacuum, water hoses in the engine bay. The heat cause them to stiffen and eventually crack and domino effect goes from there. I told the guy that bought the car (he is looking to fix it up), the first thing is to replace all the rubber hoses with silicone for a more reliable trouble-free engine. Otherwise the car is a great performer and a beautiful piece of art.

I know this is an S2000 Forum and a lot of times I see forums disrespecting car other than the one the Forum is for. I just wanted to say that you all are the exception. Even on the RX-7 Forum we bad talk a lot of cars... But you all have the shown the 7 a lot of respect.

The members of this forum are also quite grownup. They also love cars. I guess I will be sticking around - even though I don't have a S2000 - at least I have its grown up sister - the Acura TL.

The RX-7 board has LOTS of kids - sad. This runs the board down a little - not that I am against that crowd, it just gets tiring after a while - if you know what I mean. Here is the crowd I hang with vs each car:

RX-7 - 16-30 yrs old typically
Acura TL - work, so it can be anyone out of school that likes Honda (yeah, your Acura is a H O N D A !!!)
Lexus LX-470 - yuppie families with too much money!
Porsche 911 - older retired guys typically

I like it all!

Yeah i would have to agree with you on that one. I'm 22 so I guess I fit right into the middle of that one. But I don't know of any 16, 17, or 18 yr. olds that have 7's. I'm not downtalking the 7 Forum... it's great to find people with the same interests in cars and maybe only a 1/10 of the people are cocky. By the way, nice car.
