RX7 encounter
Well this just goes to show you really have to know your car and its limits. I pulled up to a light to turn left and a RX7, that definitely had been modded, pulls up next to me in the outer left hand turn lane to turn left also. In it were two guys about 27 - 33 years old and I know this guy wants to race. His car had nice rims with huge tires and a different exhaust (thats all I could see). Well he takes off when the light turns green and I can't help myself and give it a little gas as well. He pulled out in front a little drops it into second and spins out cutting right across the lanes in front of me and ends up stopped facing the curb on the left hand side of the road. I came to a stop quickly with these wonderful brakes and just kind of chuckle and go around him, leaving him to have to back up and right his car.
Well like I said at the beginning know your car and its limits. And most importantly be careful out there, you never know what the people around you will do.

I have a "93 RX7 R1 - Black - twin tubo - stocked unmodified. What I plan to do is take both out to Gateway Intl Raceway/Drag Stip and see which one can do the "quarter" faster - I believe this is a much safer way!!!

Yeah it was the latest body style but i'm not sure what year. He didn't even hit the curb so no dammage which gives me the ability to look at this situation and laugh. He must have felt pretty stupid. I think if he had the traction he would have chewed up my S.
Modded or not the old RX 7 is formidable. It scares me to think that the car you encountered is still on the road without much command at the controls. Watch out!
Where in DFW did this take place?
Just curious so I can "see and avoid".

I owned both the 94 RX-7 and the S2000. Both of them have superior handling abilities. But powerwise, the rx-7 will eat the S2K for lunch and spit it out for dinner(with mods or no mod). I loved both cars. But hey! you save a lot more on GAS with the S2K. Don't mess with the 7 if you're have no force-inductions.
I don't know about stock, but a modded RX7 kicked the **** out of me the other week while we were already moving. I kept up in second because I gunned it first, but his third gear left me in the dust. He told me at the next light that he had a bigger intercooler, aftermarket exhaust/intake.
