Default S-02 front & S-03 rear (anyone done this?)

I need to get a pair of rear tires really soon but I'm thinking of getting S-03. Anyone have S-02 front and S-03 rear? Do you recommand me to do that? Would the handling performance decrease?

I did that and didn't like it at all. So for my next set I replaced all front and rears to S02's. Check out the disscussions under tire and wheels you'll get alot of great info there. If your buying tires Jim at Tire Rack is great he gave me a great deal on my last set. I called him on his 800# ( he's the moderator), he gave me alot of info.

Call Jim @ 888-541-1777 Ext 364. He'll treat you right. You can't beat his prices.

As strange as it sounds S03's wear out in the center, you get less performance and less milage. Make sure you get the Honda S02, there is a difference from a regular S02.

Good Luck

I replaced my rears at 13k with new S-03s. Still have S-02 on front. To me it's just fine. When fronts wear out will install S-03 there as well.

What size are your S-03 on the rear?

I have had S-02's on the front and S-03's (245/45R16) on the rear for three weeks. So far, neither my wife nor I have noticed any difference.

The total cost for replacing the rear tires was as follows:

Tires (2@$159.00) - $318.00
Shipping - 15.15
Mount, Balance, etc. - 49.00
Tax on Mounting, etc. - 2.94

Total Cost - $385.09

When I purchased my new tires at the Tire Rack, I spoke with Jim to make sure that I got the appropriate tires for my particular situation.

I also have 02's on the front and 03's on the rear . You have to up size S03's one size to get the same size tire as the OEM rear SO2 . I have had them on my car for 10 months , car handles great . They are like the S02's , you need to get some heat in them to get traction. I hope to get more miles on them than OEM SO2 rear tires .

anyone who has 13-15k miles on the rear oem tires you need to check the fronts very carefully. go out to your car and turn the wheel all the way to the left or right and look at the inside inch or two of the front tires. IT is most likely totally worn down even though the outside of the fronts look great. The s2000 runs a serious amount of toe-in and will eat through the inside of tires while leaving the outside with tons of tread left.
