I am curious to see if this has happened to some s-2000 owners or if it is a freak occurrence.
Months ago I noticed that my s-2000 rear tires were looking bald prematurely ( only 12,000 miles) and I don't burn rubber (I know, I should be driving a volvo), anyways, I started to notice that the car seemed to slip sideways on rainy days, until one day the car spun out of control even though I was going under the 45 mph speed limit. Lucky for me that I had no cars near me at the time.
I changed the rear tires and it seems ok now, but I still drive slow when its raining.
I'd like to know if this has happened to anybody else.
Thanks!

I noticed when my rears needed replacing that I could feel small sideways slips in the wet. A new set of rears fixed the problem.

A common problem especially with the tosk S02 wheels, when they start to get bald the back of the car is quite easy to flick out.

When I first bought my car (used) the back tyres needed replacing. The first night I took the car out I fishtailed it up the street after going around a long left bend.

It has made me very cautious about taking corners quickly now.

light, high-power, rwd car without traction control and tires oriented for dry weather...yes, it will spin, just take it easy in the wet and you'll be fine.

Check the type of tires you have mounted on the car. You should always check the specs on a tire.

The s2000 has decent traction when there is tread. But no tire will give you traction in the rain when the tires are going bald. That's common sense. 12,000 miles on the rear is probably normal for this car. These are "summer" high performance tires.

It's been a while since I've seen any of these threads, but I'm guessing that it's probably in the top 10 for most discussed topics.

Here's a quick search which returns mostly relevant results ("tires" "wet" "wreck"): http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/search.php?s...rder=descending

BTW, cold (<40 degrees f.) and wet appears to be the really bad combination.
