Cool S/C versus gears

I'm trying to read more "about S/C versus gears" type of articles (on the S2000, preferably comparing, say 4.56/4.57 gears, against Comptech S/C with the regular boost and no other major mods, etc. -- of course other comparisons will be great too!). Does anyone have any good ones from before? I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, so I tried running a search -- but the results from the search are somewhat overwhelming and irrelevant.

Of course they are completely different animals and have very different costs, but I'm sure there were some comparisons of these two in terms of driveability, performance (i.e. 1/4mile, throttle response), practicality, etc. from personal experience.

Thanks.

if you have alot of bolt ons + gears I'm sure it would be pretty close SC gets you low 13s stock and with my mods I should be able to hit that no prob.

Someone with more experience driving both of these setups can chime in, but I do know that during an everyday commute where you might not rev the car that much, you will feel virtually no difference in the lower rpm range over stock if you get the supercharger. The supercharger's attributes are there if you want them... but not there if you don't, as long as you keep the revs low.

The gears are an "all the time" type of mod. Some people like it, some don't.

yup be like me and go with both, its a real beast when you step on it....which reminds me that I need some wider rims........before the s/c the gears really gave the car that extra pep in needed althrough the rpm band and I was impressed...but right after the s/c you'll feel the rush even more throughout the rpm band as well and you get a little whip lash effect while in vtec.....

04RioS2k: Are you running stock boost for ur S/C kit? Also, did you reinforce your diff when you changed your gears/after you bolted on your S/C?

Having both definitely sounds great ... but then ... the might be costing quite a lot!

I have had some decent experience racing comptech SC'd S2k's on stock 5.5psi boost with my i/e 4.57 geared S2000.

From a stop, it's about dead even til around 70-80mph or so. After that the SC'd S2k will slowly start to creep away. Same goes from a roll. anything lower, it's even until you get to that 70-80mph mark.
