My top is down and I get to enjoy his fumes. hits the highway at about 80 then levels off next to a minivan doing 55 in the fast lane for a few miles so I can not pass. Makes him feel good just f'ing with me. But at the end of the day, I have my beautiful red sports car and he still has his oil burning POS.
Drivers in this catagory have no intentions on racing, they just want to ruin a small piece of your day.

No one wants to race me or anything here. I had a 1999 Turbo'd Civic Si before I got the S2K and if I just drove down the street I had people trying to race me. I thought it would be the same way when I picked this car up but it's been the totally opposite. Oh well...I'm not much for street racing anyway--unless I have to

I think the reason people want to race us is due to the rarity of the car. Even though I see quite a few S2Ks down here in So Cal, I think a lot of people still don't see them often enough. Wouldn't you love to have an S2K kill.
I also think that what Prolene said is true. Most people don't think the S2K is that fast since it's only a 4 banger.

MarkS2K, don't you think, though, that the people who have learned enough about the S2K to know it is a 4 banger, also know that it has 240HP? Just to look at it, it looks fast!

I have to agree with you that the car does look fast. I've had a lot of people come up to me and tell me that the car just looks fast.
I think that people who know the car has 240 hp also know that it doesn't really have that much torque. Most people equate a lot of torque with going fast since you "feel" like you're going fast. The reality is, it's not the torque but the horespower that makes the difference.
Luckily for me, I don't have stoopid people asking to race. A lot of people that have fixed up cars just look at the car and have nice things to say about it.

I think that people who know the car has 240 hp also know that it doesn't really have that much torque. Most people equate a lot of torque with going fast since you "feel" like you're going fast. The reality is, it's not the torque but the horespower that makes the difference.

Had the same thing happen with a 4 door Explorer the other day. I was in the left lane at a light and he was in the right. There was a lot of traffic in the right lane so I took the left....it was about 1/2 mile before the entrance ramp I needed. He tried his best to keep me from his lane....the only problem.....as I shifted into second I was about 10 car lengths ahead. After that.....BYE! And from a 2000 RPM launch.
They all make me laugh, but none so much as the SUV moron and the Minivan Sad Dad. You're stuck with a van, pal.....your life is over.
At least the Explorer didn't throw his tire tread at me

My exprience has been that most don't know it's a 4... they usually ask "what's it got? a V6?"... I will inform them no, 4, and added 240hp... and the jaw drops. 
but I really don't get people that want to race.... I do pick up a lot of 3 year old girls that wave and blow kisses at me though.
Plus it just doesn't matter to me... so what if he's faster? I still have a lot more style.
