hey yea im new to cars but all i know is that im getting a s2k very soon.. i could use any help . i know all about about body kits and spoilers and shit but i know NOTHING about engines can you tell me the basics and get me started to learn
ummm learning about the engine is very easy, use the search bar on the top right hand corner and youll learn a lot about what ever you want to know about. By creating a thread and asking ppl to tell you what they know about the s2000's engine is absurd. Well anyways welcome.
Yogi, that's friggin' awesome!!!! What are you actually doing? Full tear-down rebuild? Did something "bad" happen to this engine that instigated this?
Also, if you have a full-size version of that picture, could you upload it to s2ki and point me to it? I'd love to have that!!! I can't see what page of the shop manual you're studying!!!
How about a web cam, dude, so we can watch you mess with it!

Some great answers....... but on a more serious note, here's some info on the ORIGINAL (pre '04):
All-new, compact and naturally aspirated, the F20C is a 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC VETC inline 4 cylinder engine. It incorporates forged aluminum pistons, forged connecting rods with heat treated surfaces, carbon fibre and aluminum fibre reinforced cylinder linings, and hollow camshafts -- things normally found in race car engines. The great majority of production engines use cast, not forged, parts

Kinda blurry though. The exhaust manifold is missing from the pic, guess I forgot to throw it in. The shop manual page is the one that explains how to relieve fuel pressure and remove the fuel rail I believe.
