If I see another one once a month, that's a lot. Depends on where you live. In The Mid-west or North East, it's still a rare sighting, except for those first few nice days of the year when everyone's out for a drive.

Just recently, I have notice within 2 blocks of where I lived, there are total of 11 S2000.
What's your address? I'll come over and steal the other offending S2Ks

The S2000 is now in it's 6th year of production (well, 6th year of sale in North America anyway), they're not gonna be as rare as they used to be. On the other hand, there are 4 corvettes (2 Z06s) on my street alone. And I live in a small rural neighborhood!

Compared to the 350Z for example, which has only been out a year, the S is downright rare in DC. I see more now that I'm an owner, but that's also because I'm paying more attention. I still see more M3's, Boxters, 350Zs, G35s, Miatas, and TTs by a large margin. I even see the 350z converitible and the 05 Mustang in decent numbers, and they've been out less than a year. In a town that doesn't even blink at a boxter, my S is still rare enough to get its fair share of double takes.

Now the Z8 Alpina that parks in my garage sometimes is a different story...drool....

I see them every now and then, but you gotta remember, if you live in a nice neighborhood, there may be a high density of nice cars; whereas when you get away from your neighborhood there aren't going to be many at all. In my neighborhood, we've got a BMW Z8, a dodge viper, a few M3's, 2 or 3 rx-8's, about 10 miata's, 5 or 6 Hummers, 2 350Z's, and 3 s2000's. So in my neighborhood, nobody gives me a second look. But when I roll through town with the top down, you can tell that people don't see the car that often. Girls turn their heads and smile, guys stare at the car like its replica of Pam Anderson, and middleaged housewives pull up next to me at stoplights and rev their engines (which is kinda wierd considering I'm only 22). If you think that because there are a lot of nice cars in a nice neighborhood, everyone's got one, then you need to spend some time mentoring the downtown kids where nobody's lucky enough to drive an s2000.

If you want cheap AND rare, get my car, an MR2 Spyder.

Then again, who cares how rare it is when it's slow as hell! God I want an S2000! Pretty soon..
