Default S2000 AP2 - JDM Spec

Hi everyone,

i'll be importing my s2000 from japan by the end of the year, and was curious as to what differs in the spec form the JDM to UKDM models

my reasons for buying a JDM AP2 is that i want a white one. white was only an option in 2008/9 in the uk, as the final edition, which is out of my price range.

i will be purchasing a 2004/5 model as i was the F20C, and 2006 onwards come with the F22C, as you all know.

Also, the JDM model has higher compression, therefore a few more horses - albeit not much

Also, the JDM model had the option of satellite navigation, which the UKDM model never had, which i will be replacing the useless japanese unit with a double din aftermarket system. (i'd rather do this on a pre-cut dash for obvious reasons haha)

i also prefer the square licence plate recessed bumper, and the cleaner looking front bumper with NO headlight washer jets

is there any other features the jdm models have, which the ukdm does not?

if anyone has a spec list/optional list please post them up! for ukdm and jdm

thanks

david

Yes. Since the car didn't really come with options outside Japan, other than the engine, they should be the same but for the minor differences like the headlight washers. I haven't seen a list for specs between Japan and UK models though.

I have a 2003 JDM spec with an F20C. I have no cruise control and the rear defogger button is not connected to anything since it has a plastic rear window. Aside from that, I don't notice anything different from the USDM models aside from the driver's seat being on the right side. The differences are probably minute.

Either your soft top was replaced (and defogger button removed) or that's not a 2003 car. All S2000s manufactured after Aug. '01 had glass rear window.

What's the VIN/chassis number? Should probably be AP1-120xxxx.

I doubt the top has been changed since S2000 parts are rare as stink in Thailand. All I know is that 10 were imported from Japan via Honda. My initial impression is that they wouldn't be spec'd differently than the equivalent JDM model. It could be that my car is NOT a 2003 and an earlier model though the car was brand new with 0 miles in 2004 when purchased by the first owner. Heck, it was sold and titled here as a 2004 and it surely does not have the face lift. I'm looking for a way to ID my car as well.

Want to ID the car, start with the VIN. Also, look at the door jambs for a production date.
