Has anyone seen an S2000 as a base for a Ferrari or Lamborghini kit? I'm just courious.

 

That would be neat.

I know of at least one kit that is working on using the full suspension and driveline. They bolt off the suspensions and reattach them to a tube frame to cut massive amounts of weight, but it is more of a track car kit rather than a street model.

This one is still in prototype stage and I haven't seen what the body will look like.

I've been seeing these kits that really look like the real thing, even when parked next to the real car and I was wondering if anyone has taken an S2000 and done this.

Because of our engine... especially the AP1, you could fool people into thinking that it was a Ferrari. And I am sure that you can find a 2000 S2000 for less than $13,000.

 

The only one that I have seen using the S2000 is a Lotus super 7 kit. The car only weighs half as much as a S2000.

people will still know it's a kit even if it's dressed with a prancing horse logo. The honda is a stellar car, but the sound of a ferrari is as irreplaceable as the sound of vtec screaming.

I say be happy with what you got, it's a beautiful car as it is, don't go making it look like something it's not.

 

I'm not a kit-car guy myself, but don't forget: not every Ferrari sports-racer was a V-12. The S2000 could make an excellent basis for a 750 Monza (also an inline-4) replica.

 

iono but i would never try to do that.... if u cant afford the ferrari than dont try and pretending like u do n make the s2k into one...

 

There are some cool kits out there that don't look like any other car. I like those.
