S2000 battery size
I posted this question a long time ago and I was told its a group size 51. I'm looking forward to the future to get a light weight and dry cell battery. I want to make sure I get a nice one with more CCA's than the stock one. I'm thinking about the one with the red top but I forgot the brand name. If anyone have any recommendations on which battery to get, please post.
(Touch wood) - In fact, there has been absolutely nothing wrong with any part of this car. Until I saw this thread, I never even gave the battery or the top a second thought.
..............
Exactly why this forum needs an anal retento like me to worry about such things. I should add that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car, and, in fact, it always starts up so very rapidly that I can't even get a good listen to the cranking speed, to see if that is nice and high.

My battery died after about 2 years. I took it to an auto electrician and he said the problem was that I only drive the car every couple of days and then it's not usually a very long drive so doesn't do much to top up the battery. That and all the stereo gear and back to base radio alarm I've got installed.
The plan is to mount a battery charger in the roof of my garage with a pull down cord terminating in a cigarette lighter plug. I'll have to hot wire the cigarette lighter socket so it's on all the time and directly connected to the battery.

Actually battery longevity is shorter in extremely hot climes. Battery termination in the 24-36 month range is not unusual with the months of 98F+ temps in the southwestern US, so we are just getting to that point with the early cars. I notice my battery (30+ months old) shows neither blue or red through the window and I was considering pulling the vinyl paper so I can add distilled water.
