Is the S2000 the Best All-Around Sports Car?

I also agree, but hope I'm not being blasphemous by saying the car really needed more power from the get go. It could easily jump into Porsche territory with some added power, given the low cost of the car it can be easily achieved in the aftermarket and after purchasing one.

(I'm a weirdo who just wants to be able to have my foot to the floor for more than 5 seconds without breaking a law)

Not even close to being the best all-around in my opinion. On the other hand, it's clearly the most fun. I always have a large grin whether it's on-track or on-street. It's got a driving character that's so unique.

What’s your Mount Rushmore of pure sports cars from the past 30 years?
I’m going NA/NB Miata- so playful and carefree of a car. That car is just a delight.
Lotus Elise/Exige - Simply pure sport
Late Model Boxster - a joy to drive, well balanced, just fantastic.
The final one is tricky. I could put the S2000 here as it is very nimble and responsive. I also would be remiss for not considering a corvette, I dunno.

i donno about that
post your 2001 s2000 and see how many people would trade it for their 2001 ITR
plus almost every video from japan i see. s2000 doesnt really win that much from 01 ITR
they are neck to neck in most of the videos same with RSX unfortunately. i feel like type-r was much more of a dog on the track than any other 4 banger ( and i only mean stock)
now if you start to modify the motors its obvious the displacement and vtc on k series has clear advantage
