Default S2000 CR Brakes?

I checked out the Honda website and noticed that the S2000 CR brakes hasn't been upgraded. Is this true? What kind of track car does not have upgraded brakes? Are the rotors, calipers, pads, brake fluid etc. the exact same specs as the AP2?

yes - AP1 and AP2 brakes are both excellent - only difference is the AP2 has a slightly different pad compound.

the OEM are more than enough to stop an S with race compounds. the only negative is that they are rather heavy...

But can the AP2's survive track days without fading/boiling brake fluids?

^ Go look in the R&C forums and see how many of those track cars have upgraded calipers/rotors. You'll likely find approximately zero. Other than upgraded pads & fluids, the stock S2000 braking system is sufficient to handle the braking duties on track. However, pads that are used on the track are not generally suitable for daily-driving duty, which is why Honda doesn't put in track pads from the factory. And the OEM pads are actually fairly competent for autocross and light track duty.

absolutely - but only when you add racing fluid and pads. oem will fade indeed - but is not the brake system, just the pad/fluid combination.

if this is what you meant then you're right - they should have put more aggressive stuff. problem is that the aggressive stuff is noisy and dirty.
