"The S2000 has a dense foam block within the door which helped to protect him from the side impact. "

What exactly are they talking about here? I've had my door pannel off and never saw such a thing. I'm wondering if the guys that did my speaker install took something out.

Maybe it's only in European cars? I haven't cracked my door open yet so I can't really help you.

Well I have had the covers off of both doors, and so have many others who have installed speaker. Just look @ Lucid's web site for the speaker installation guide. It is just not there.

Interesting. I also would like to know what they mean by the pedestrian item.

If you take a look at all the ratings you'll see that the S2000 finished at the top of the four star group with a 27. Very few cars actually did better than this.

Well I guess that makes sense (poor pedestrian rating) due to the fact that the hood is aluminum. I suppose you need a dodge ram to "perform" well in a pedestrian crash .

I think that's pedestrian friendly rating that we are talking about, as in inflicting as little harm as possible to the pedestrian in case of impact.

Maybe the foam pannels they mention are in the 2002's only(the model year being tested) as far as pedestrian safety goes,I always figured with the way the hood points down that if I hit someone I end up with the person in the seat next to me.
