Where's Rick Hesel when you need him?

I'd advise against alcantara in a convertible. It'd get real dirty real fast and look pretty bad.

I think it looks great!

Lets see...if Rick's console cover is around US$140, and the dash is at least 6 times as large, that would be....

ummmm......

twenty four, carry the two...

.........

$840 bucks. Plus shipping.

That might be a possibility, especially if it comes with a guarantee to attract chicks!

It sounds like a job for Rick Hesel, after all, he just finished covering his trunk CD holder and window tube in leather. He has to move on to something else now.

Yeah Rick, time for some research and development ... This sounds and will be potential good business if you manage to pull this off. Which I don't think it's hard, just have the airbag portion cut off and then stuck on as a separate piece of the dash.

I visited some local leather shop today which specializes in creating custom leather car interiors - they said it was no problem for them to take on such a project and showed me very impressive photos of previous projects which clearly demonstrated that they're capable of such a thing.
This shop already did custom leather dashboards for a couple of cars with a passenger side airbag (Alfa, Audi, BMW) and they said that the airbag wouldn't be an issue of concern.
I'll show the owner of the shop the S2000s dashboard next week (he is still on vacation) so he will be able to tell me how much money this is going to cost me .

I won't be doing this, the ROI just isn't there for me, however if I were, I'd go for a non-reflective suede covering, like what the Ferrari 360 Challenge cars have.

Sounds good Nachtmeister, give us a heads-up when possible. I don't think Rick is gonna look around here.
