20 years later, if the value doesnt go up because electric cars would be buzzing everywhere, and still, the Vette is on the top of the collector's list, even if you have the lowest miles, with a nice paint job, but you probably can't take it out anymore because of its pollution standard violation by then ........ what are you gonna say to yourself.

[FONT=arial]I have a '97 Prelude and a '02 S2000. They are both stock and both are fun cars to drive, however I find myself wanting to drive the Prelude on the +300 mile trips. If you keep the S2000 below 300 miles per day, it will make you a fine daily driver!!! I wake up not knowing which one to drive...

Take it from a daily driver, this car makes a fine everydayer. Just be careful where you park it. I live in the best state in the union, New York (sorry had to get it in) and we experience a full smathering of all four seasons. As long a you have a junker for the snow, ice, and rain you'll have no probs. I have an 88' Civic hatch known as "Egg beater". Its perfect for bad whether and picking up dirty car parts and top soil etc.
Go for it you won't be disappointed.

Geez, I almost feel bad for all you cold weather/4 season owners. I can't imagine NOT driving this car everyday, but I can understand not wanted to drive around in the snow and ice and stuff either. I am kinda biased cuz I live in San Diego, its the middle of November, the sun is out and its already in the 70's at 8AM.

I drive everyday, but like most of you, I take care of her. Clean, wax, regular maintenance etc. I have never owned more that 1 car at a time but having this as my daily driver is just fine with me.

Take care of your S2K and she will take care of you

Just my thoughts

If you can drive top down all year, the S2000 makes a fine daily driver - you just have to make sure that you don't need the rear seats or a lot of cargo room.

If you get a lot of rain or drive at night a lot, make sure you get a '02 S2000 with the glass rear window.

If you get snow like some of us do, make sure you have snow tires and make sure you don't have to go anywhere in a hurry if it snows. Snow/Ice tires are also a must.

You can get some good prices right now on s2000's (at least in the ny metro area). You can pick up a 2001 for under $30k, and a 2002 just sold for $31k on e-bay.

I wouldn't let my ca$h just sit in the garage to look at...I make it to spend it and have fun with it cuz I am not taking it with me when I die! Sad to say but realistically--would rather have my death in an S2K doing something I love (driving it)! Think about it--wouldn't you rather die doing something you love to do than a painful death like being in a fire, drowning, or worst--because of an illness when you aren't even a smoker, drinker, etc... You have one life to live....LIVE IT! (This isn't a response to anyone--just some of my own opinions about life.)

ZoominLude--S2000s are great daily drivers--because you will always have this on your face ! What more can you ask for--top up or down, cruise control, fun to drive, warranty, S2Ki, list goes on... always happy to make those car payments. Good luck on your decision and let us know if you become an owner.
