I think where I'm getting at is that you guys are making the s2000 sound like a beast with too much power, and young drivers need to be careful not to step on the gas too much or he'll crash or something.
As I said, its the suspension that has could more than a few S2000 by surprise. You need mush more talent keep an S2000 straight as opposed to, say, a Miata.

BTW, to the original poster: I'd recommend getting a Miata first. If you can live with the space, then an S2000 will fit better. You won't look much money with an older Miata: the S2000 depreciation is suprisingly steep.

the thing is not that it has a crapload of torque, it's the sudden huge increase in power in a very short period of time that kicks out the rear, combined with the light weight of the car and the lack of any computerized stability control (in pre-2006 models)
Try it with a supercharger and 4.57 gears. VTEC and spiiiiiiinnnnnnn.

If I ever drive the S2000 through a winter again, I'm rev-limiting it to 6k rpms.

Nope. Not at all. I would have selected a bigger car if that had been a concern.

I dd my s2k. I had an acura tsx before it and the reason I got rid of it was so I could do the 2 seater thing before I have a family. I got the rest of my life to own nice luxury cars. Only reason I wish I had more space is so I could throw my cd's in the back seat like I used to. Cuz I always have to move em when my girl gets in but she knows the drill now so she jus holds em. Other than that nope the space is NOT an issue.

I DD mine, I'm anal about keeping my car clutter free so the lack of space is a good thing really. I rarely have to go anywhere with more than one person and if I do, my girlfriend has a 330i.

It hasn't been a problem, of course I had a del Sol before.

If your into monogomy then get it.

If your into polygymy than don't.

Who really needs to tool around more than a friend or a gf? I see no need as i don't have kids or a job that requires me to lug things around. don't listen to ignorant people telling you to buy a different car. Their posts waste space just arguing anyways. You are obviously in the market for a car of this type and I would ask the same questions and did a few months ago and got the same negative responses from the same people. Keep asking them or search a bit bro
