S2000 diffs in parking lots
Hello, all.
I just fetched my car from a mechanic after blowing up my stock diff last week. The replacement diff I got was from a JDM importer here in Montreal, I never opened it up. On the first drive with the new diff, I found that it's got the tendency to slip the inside wheel on a very low speed turn (think parking lot). No noises, but the tire will spin the slightest bit. I don't remember my car ever doing this.
I've got an Evo with an aggressive rear diff, and this is what it reminds me of. Is my new diff a broken turd, or did I luck out and get a JDM diff that someone shoved a clutch-type LSD into?

Stock definitely does this on sharp low speed turns if there is anything on the surface (even a small amount of dust/gravel). Likely just the limited slip doing its thing.

It also happens in uneven surfaces. I notice it turn off a stop sign on my commute where there's a small ditch in the pavement i drive through pulling onto the main road.

Thanks, everyone.
I took it out a couple of days ago and it was still doing it. I went to a dirt parking lot, drove in circles for a while and it calmed down a bit. It never did it in reverse, only going forward. I may have heard a couple of quiet pops/clunks, but it was pretty much quiet as it did it, and doesn't make any noise driving around town. I still noticed a couple of 'slips' that were very strange - changing lanes at 15 mph, it let out a good one. My previous diff never did it, maybe the gears were worn out, who knows. I'm still taking it as it comes, but I'm leaning towards it being a stock diff that's not in the greatest shape.

I just took it out for the 2nd time since I got it fixed. The car sat for a few days and the diff was pretty tight when I left, lots of lock. I booted around the city for a few km and came back. It seems that the right side tire is the only one to spin now, the left has gone quiet. It's very noticeable on tight right turns in parking lots, it can chirp the inside tire pretty easily. Bad axle, maybe?

The problem persists and seemed to be getting a tad worse, locks pretty brutally on right turns. While cruising it tracks totally straight, but pulls to the right a bit on decel. I have a leak between the housings on the diff, so it was down a bunch of fluid in the short time I drove it (might be related to the increased locking). It did still lock/spin the tire on right turns when the diff was full, too. It also developed a click from the right rear when letting the clutch out, which could be internal, could be axle torque (though I requested 180+60*).
Any specific ideas what's going on in the diff?
