My thoughts as well. OP - what happened to the bird? Hopefully it didn't suffer long? The car can be easily repaired, but not so much for the bird... or any animal. Bummer.

I hit a bluebird last summer, it actually got stuck between the bumper and front lip for the next hour of my drive.

It was quite dead when I finally stopped the car.

Here is another bird strike: This is looking straight down on the brake assembly, top of picture is towards the airplane, to the right is forward. I took this in JFK.
The body of the bird (hawk) was imbedded in between the brake pistons and the carbon discs. Took some work to remove and check things were okay. Strike was about 200 mph.

jeez,
Had a bald eagle strike in the engine cowling on rotation at my airport. And the rumor is true, the government comes out to collect every feather recovered from the plane and the tarmac.
