How is this a "good deal" for someone? If you bought the parts from a dealership it would cost about $15,000 to repair this car. They want 28000 for it? My local dealer has left over 07's w/Honda incentives for that much undamaged and new!

Why wouldn't the dealer file an insurance claim and repair it?

I think they took the insurance money already and now hoping to sell it for cheap.
Even if they repair it, concealing the fact that it has been broken in would be illegal and nobody would want to pay the same price for a vehicle that's been broken into.
It's a minus for them.
They'll definitely take the insurance money for the damage and sell the car as-is for cheap, but not cheaper than the 'MSRP - insurance $$' .
Just my $0.02

Dan

The dealership is trying to make a quick buck. They are asking 28000 for it (26K is just the starting bid). The cost of repairing this car with new parts is easily 10K with labor counted so how the hell is it a good deal? I also dont like the way they have covered all the affected areas so that the true extent of the damage cannot be seen and the engine bay pic is not even of this car.God knows what is missing/mutilated in there. To me the dealer looks extremely dodgy. Also its a little hard to believe someone got into a dealership lot and did such extensive damage.I mean they have cut the fenders to steal lights and that too just one. All this just does not add up in my mind.

it looks like its the AP1 spark plug cover!!! anyone?? sucks for the dealers though, i think its way over price for a salvaged even new.
It is an AP1 cover, but if you look closer, the fenders in that pic are blue so this is obviously a left over stock photo.

This is a shitty deal.....

They are looking to get $28k out of the car that they claim is worth $34k new. So this is a $6k savings, but if you replaced everything broke or missing with oem parts, did all the work yourself and then took it in to have it re-painted you would easily hit $5600. So you are getting $400 off for your time and trouble?

I am sure you could get a new one and get them to knock the $400 off the sticker.

project car.

new seats, hard top, wider fenders, cf hood. with less than 10 miles, because you had to.

$25k is a good price, considering it's got 0 miles on it.

let's see...

cf hood is about $1000
seats - $1000 to $2000
wider fenders - $1000 (including paint)
hard top - $1200 (?)

= $5200

$26000 + $5200 = $31,200.
