Default S2000 ----- EVO X ------ S2000

Well I'm proud to say I've come back to play for the good guys. I owned a 2003 Silverstone AP1 for four years, before selling it my senior year of college. I hoofed it for a year, then picked up a 4d 2008 Civic SI after graduation.

The Civic served it's purpose pretty well, but I honestly couldn't live with the goofy exterior and civic "boy racer" image. I ended up jumping into a late model 2008 Evo X, wicked white. I had always wanted a turbo, and had nearly swapped the first s2k for a 2006 STi while in school.

This thing was awesome, I did full exhaust, tuning, etc etc and had a really fast car. Four doors was great, it sounded incredible....but lacked the fun factor of the s2000 I had owned in the past.

I'll be very clear in saying this - the Evo outperforms. With the right mods, it will outhandle and outpower and s2000. It is incredibly easy to drive, and is very forgiving. A skilled driver in an s2000 would be needed to keep up with a novice driver in an Evo. Here's the speed I'm talking about...with ~2500 in mods.

But much like the Civic, I felt like a boy racer again. It was unreliable as hell, and threw a CEL anytime I stomped the gas with the AC on. I ended up going through the whole spectrum, looking for something more. 335i, 550i, Lotus Exige S, M Coupe....but insurance started to become an issue. I'm still under 25, and though I do well for myself, the six month insurance on the Exige was $2100...there are much smarter things to be doing with $4200 a year. I got online and did some quick insurance quotes on the s2000...they were half what I was paying on the Evo.

Shortly thereafter, for half the price of the other cars, and half the insurance cost, I had found myself a GPW 2007 S2000. Sure it doesn't have 400hp, and sure it's not practical at all...but I love it.

convertible tops are much sexier than 4 doors.

I love my S2000, it's fast in the curves when I need it to be and I don't miss the lack of power.

Man why not keep the 10 for the DD and get a used S for weekend duty. Right now thats my plan later than sooner. But right now i drive a beater for my DD grind untill i can afford a used evo,sti or untill i have my CR payed off. I think the S2000 was made for weekends only not as a DD but i have DD mine just recently did i get my beater

Fortunately my first s2000 served as a DD for four years, so I at least know what I'm getting myself into...but yes if I could swing (or if I could justify the cost) two cars, I'd love to strip out the S and only use it on the weekends.
