Default S2000 faults and problems

Hi everyone

I'm writing a feature for our magazine on the S2000 and would appreciate your help with research.
I've driven an S2000 press car - and WOW!
I really loved it, but I'd like some owner's impressions.

Please let me know what, if any, are the most common problems/faults with the car, and what, if any, are the fixes or solutions.
Also what do you like best about the car, and what do you like least about it.

Many thanks in advance!

Apart from a few minor problems S2000 owners generally love their cars. I don't know of too many owners who love the pathetic excuse for service they have to put up with.

Hey Reed. I really like those rims. What kind are they and where did you get them from? Are those 17's or 18's. How much are they and do you happen to know how much they weigh. Sorry for all the questions!!! I have a Red S also and i think they look really great!! Have you experienced any difference in daily driving compared to stock.?
Thx Looks sweet!!!!!

They look like SSR GT1s. Not sure if they are 17s or 18s.

Seems like there are already hundreds of articles on this car. It's been around since 1999? I know that this guy wants to get info from the horses mouth, but I could gather the info from just reading this forum for a few days and reading a few articles in Motor Trend and Car and Driver. I hope that he doesn't go to the Miata board with the same question.

Shahzad,

Hard to unlock passenger's door from inside car with motor running. Clock in radio hard to see. Tonneau cover useless except for cosmetic purposes and a nuisance. Otherwise, car seems perfect. It is completely no-nonsense. Its superb crash and roll-over characteristics make it extremely safe if you keep your seat belt on.

Torque curve of engine just about what I got used to on Honda motorcycles in my youth and no problem for me at all. Highest fun per dollar or pound sterling of anything manufactured with four wheels.

Younger, less experienced, and less skilled drivers need to take time to learn the car and must respect it as a racing car with a street body, not a souped-up street car. (There is no built-in understeer to get you out of trouble if you don't know what you are doing.) I recommend some sort of lessons for all owners and am scheduling my wife and myself at the earliest opportunity.

I plan to keep mine forever.
