S2000 a Girl's Car?
that's right. who cares what other people think. if you truly enjoy a vehicle (whether it is genernally perceived as a "girl's car" or not) then you should get it. imo, the only people who would hessitate to get a vehicle based on how the public perceives that car are people who are insecure with themselves (particularly their masculinity). i'm not saying this is you, but i think you need to step back and really question why it even bothers you that others perceive the s2000 as a "girl's car." but to directly answer your quesiton: NO. from what i've seen on the road, there are more guys driving the s2000 than there are girls. it's mainly due to the fact that the car was designed with performance enthusiasts in mind and so most of the characteristics of the s2000 are on the extreme side. this includes the 9000rpm engine, the short throw manual only tranny, the stiff suspension and chassis, etc. most chicks (no offense to female performance enthusiasts) who are looking for a "cute" car would probably not put up with the harsh driving characteristics of the s2000, when there are other cute cars in market for the similar price or less that are more accommodating. nevertheless, from my personal experience, most of the compliments i get on my s2000 are from females, yet, most of the people i see driving the s2000 are males. i don't know what that says about the car, but you can try to make your own conclusion.
This car looks awesome. Especially with the front lip. My girlfriend tells me it looks like a mini-Viper. And I take that as a compliment. That said, I think it looks mean from the front, very masculine!!
I think your friend was just jealous. All the people I have ever encountered have loved the car, never have I hear,"it's a girls' car." Just buy it and when your friend sees it, she will want a ride!!

Let the record show, in no way has my decision waivered since I was told this. Personally I don't care, I was just curious to whether or not there was a subconscious feeling about the s2k like there is about the Miata, SLK, etc.
Thanks for the input so far.

I don't like people who say things like this. She will criticize you for buying "a girl's car," but then if you buy a Viper or a Lightning she would probably say "what a stupid GUY's CAR!" You can't win.
The truth is the S2000 is neither a girl's car nor a guy's car, and people who try to categorize it as such obviously know nothing about it.
