I Built a hoist for my s2000 hardtop. It's a lot more secure than using hooks but it does rest on the seal under the rear window. I'm going to evaluate whether this is doing anything to the seal.
Anyway the hardtop is finally off the floor of the garage and stowed for the summer! I'm going to post some photos in the Photo Gallery under Hardtop Hoist (Homemade).
