Default s2000 has to go

I just found out that my car insurance is not being renewed as a result of several speeding tickets. I am now in the high risk pool.

As a result I have to sell my s2000. It is a 2003 Silverstone with a new stereo system worth $2000.It has about 4k miles on it and is a real garage queen. I am totally bummed out but I dont feel like giving 6k a year to the insurance companies.

What kind of price can I expect to get on ebay( I have great feedback)

The S2000 is a totally awesome vehicle. Perfect to drive, unpretentious, comfortable. I wanted to keep it for 20 years and now it will be gone in 4 months.........

That sucks. I had a buddy that bought a 350Z when they first came out and he had to let it go as he had over bought what his salary would allow him to purchase. He lost about 2G on the 350Z but learned a valuable lesson. Driving a nice car is cool but working at a crummy low income job and living with Mom and Dad sux.

why don't you buy a craptacular 1K beater car and keep the S as an AutoX car or throw it in storage. dont get in any more trouble with the insurance pricks, and then when your rates go down revel in your posession of a fantastic, mint condition, unadulterated sports car. with a $2000 system to boot

Then again, if your residence is not permanent, and you don't have room to garage the S yourself, or don't feel like making payments on a car you dont get to drive, you might be better off trying to sell it....problem is, you wont get much more than 28K (if that).

For instance, my insurance sykrocketed because I am under 25, had an at-fault accident, and the insurance gives me no love because I'm young, single, and male. I decided to keep mine and put it in storage rather than take a 10-14K hit on trying to sell it. still making payments, but in a few years this ride will still be the same as it is now-timeless. plus, right now living at home I can afford to make payments because i'm not paying for rent, something I wont be able to claim in a few years.

Just my .02C...

you'd never get your money back on your 2K stereo and would be better off taking it out and selling it separately. as far as the car goes, you'd probably take a 2-4K loss on it.

I already have 3 cars-audi a6 and pathfinder. I think I will sell the s2000 and then in 2 years dump the a6 and replace them with a 911 targa-the ideal family car.

Putting the s2000 in storage ie my garage doesnt appeal- walking past it daily yet unable to drive it would depress the sh/t out of me.

If I got 28k I would be stoked.

Unfortunately in my neck of the woods the cops spend most of their time hiding in bushes with their laser guns.

I got 1 speeding ticket-5 over.My wife had a $800 fender bender -her fault. We got hit by a truck-not our fault. And 3 no safety belts- all this in 3 years.

As you can see we are hardcore high-risk middle-aged gangstas who must be stopped.....

don't mean to sound condescending but no seat belt violations are the most idiotic infractions, because they're so easy to avoid and insurance companies really love you for them, because it can be grounds to deny coverage and/or jack up your rates. oh, besides the fact that they can, you know, save your life(especially in a convertible) 3 of them? without those, you'd still be able to afford the insurance on the S2000. plus, if you think a 911 targa is going to have cheap insurance for a driver with a record like yours, tell me who your provider is-I want them!

I agree, too often the really dangerous drivers seem to never get caught doing really dangerous stuff, but people doing 5 MPH over on a 2 lane country road get nabbed by some cop trying to make quota. *lame*

All the seat belt violations were speeding tickets that I plead down to seating belt violations...........

Also 5 miles per hour over was plead down from 25 over.

I come from England where you can go 90 on a highway without being hassled. I am slowly being broken from the habit
