Default S2000 HP rating...

Maybe this has been covered before (I lack the knowledge of how to search on this forum) but has anyone else wondered how much horsepower our S2000's REALLY have? I mean with the new SAE standards and all and with Toyota, Honda, and Nissan cars losing power because they interpreted the old rules to their advantage- lookup "cheated"- when coming up with horsepower numbers as opposed to domestic automakers who actually saw raises in power, it leads you to wonder if the S2000 REALLY does make 120hp per liter. I highly doubt it because most, if not all, Hondas and Acuras seemed to have lost power with the revision. That leaves me to wonder how much power S2000's really have at the flywheel. Horsepower could be off from anywhere between 5-10hp as is consistent with other Honda models.

yup as stated above, the S2K lost 3 hp under the new system.. crank HP doesn't mean jack though. It didn't lose any whp which is all that matters.

"lost" power is a misnomer. the S2k didn't "lose" power. all that happened was they changed their standard.

The S2k makes just as much power now as it did before. Them changing the method in which this power is measured does not mean power was somehow "lost".

If you look at an uncorrected dyno and then correct it to STD or SAE, that doens't mean the car suddenly "lost" power. it simply means it was changed to make it more universal.

Seriously, a guy has been on these boards for 5 days and he makes a comment like " learn to search it will replace your current gay lover". These boards keep attracting more and more intelligence it seems. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime.

Question was asked, it was answered with some advice. Topic has been covered numerous times, even a simple search on yahoo would have given him the answer to his question.

Lastly, I was driving an S2000 since 03. You have probably had the car for less then a year and probably bought it used. This car keeps attracting more and more intelligence it seems =]
