Alright, got some pics for you. . .

The phone in my S2000 is a Samsung 8500 with the Handsfree Kit (includes charging base, install mount, microphone and external speaker).

Let me know what you think of it and I hope it helps the folks out who have wondered where to mount a phone!

Those of you interested in this, I am offering substantial discounts from Sprint PCS to S2000 Online members. . .let me know!

Very nice! I have the same phone. Did you have to drill any holes? How much is the hands free set? Thanks.

First thing. . .thanks for being a Sprint PCS customer! How do you like your 8500? It's a GREAT phone!

Yes, drilling holes is required, but before you , the carpet is thick enough to cover the small incisions should you ever want to take it out in the future! The list price for the kit is $199. . .if you are interested in it, I could send you one for $149 (this price would include the shipping and NC state tax).

In either case, the kit works very well ! The only time I have to lift the phone is when I have the top down!

Airgate where did you put the mike? Do you get much road noise when the top is down? What I have found is that the headsets like Jabra or the ear buds with the mike on the cord picks up way too much road noise. I switched to a Wireless headset make by Air Magic and it works really good. Much clearer for the person I am calling and there are no wires. I also have a Plantronics(corded)head set that I use when I am not in the car.

I would prefer a hands free solution like what you have if I could send the sound through my speakers and have a mike that wont pick up all the road noise.

Where can I get an Air Magic wireless headset, and can I get one from the Nokia 8210?

I pretty much only drive with the top down so a handsfree carkit is not really an option.

The gray "two tone" was the very first production of Samsung 8500's for Sprint PCS. At the time I got mine, I was able to choose between the gray "two tone" or silver and obviously you saw which one I chose!

It depends where you got your phone and how long ago it was. . .whether or not you could swap also depends on the inventory of that color. The silver replaced the gray "two tone," so chances are there are none other than the silver! But hey, relax. . .SILVER is nice! Great that you are with Sprint PCS too!

That's great! does the kit only work with Samsung's phone? or is it universal? Hey..would your discount for s2k members still apply in the summer? The reason i'm asking is that i'm currently under contract. The contract will end in a couple more months.
