Why don't insurance companies like me? I have 07, am 19, clean record and I pay 300 a month with bare minimum coverage and 1000 deductible. =( ( I shopped around, some were asking 650 a month)

Update: I just called geico and told them I'm married now.

They dropped my payments from $187==>$150/month.

Thanks for the thread--you inadvertently saved me some money!!

In my opinion you have to factor a few thing when buying a new car, I would consider you total cost to own it, payment on the car itself, insurance, gas each month.
I bought my 02 for $19,000 and my payment is $420 a month insurance is $560 and I only use about $100 in gas. So it's about $1,080 a month to drive the s2k.

No joke! if insurance is over $500/month, I'd start my car search at Geico, not Autotrader!
