Well done! However I hope the car behind you in the right lane was ok...

Nice move. Was there a shoulder to the right of your lane? If there was, i would have dove in there in an emergency like this without having to check the mirror... that'd just be my instinct.

Thanks again everyone for your kind words.

PLAYLIFE, I think this person was. He/she should have had time to stop before hitting the first accident car. If he/she would have dove into the middle lane there would have been another accident of which there was not. I did check the rearview when I was further up the road, however, I really could not see much besides the flashing police lights (kept them busy for sure).

SixthGear, no. The accident happened right where people are getting on the interstate. Any move to the right would have taken me into merging traffic. That really would have been a bad night.

Good job Scott on avoiding the accident. Glad that you're alright, although a bit worse for the wear.

Nice job. Could you not just stop in time rather than that move?

Great story and great driving Scott! That's defensive driving at it's best -- the use of some offense to escape an otherwise inescapable problem. But it requires a great handling car like ours.

Great S2000 Story. You're also a good writer. Maybe your story will help one of us someday (assuming we are in the stook). Email it to Honda, if nothing else, they will love it.
