I just met the owner of the only other s2000 in my area and he informed me that he just got all his money back on his s2000 from the dealer under Ct. lemon law.
he purchased the car last march and his engine light was going off regularly since day one. the dealer spent many attempts at a resolution, to the point of flying in a specialist from Calif. to no avail.
he was very disappointed in losing his baby, but has decided to wait til spring to see if he still feels comfortable in purchasing a new 2001 model or maybe switching to a boxster.
he said one other s2000 in Calif. experienced the same problem.

It's a bit difficult to get over that sort of experience but it really is isolated. Shame but on the bright side he could get a Boxster and have a complete engine failure. His odds are better just getting another Stook.

Hmmm, that's the first case I have heard of this happening with an S2000. Honda will take care of him, I'm confident...

What a bummer...

I think GregStevens should take back my lemon. I peeled the tape off the windshield frame, and now I hate it! I hate it I say! Damned GregStevens!

Isn't Sondra married, or at least wasn't she married when she first got the car?

I have had some bad experiences with my car and Honda has done everything but "take care of me". They have been consistently stand-offish and resistant to admit when there has been a problem with the car and then resistant to fix it. Most recently, I had my second differential go bad. The first took about 4 months to start making noises and so did the second. But they claim that because I changed my own clutch and I have an exhaust, they cannot warranty my differential. This despite the fact I never touched my diff, it's in a totally separate casing, my clutch has nothing to do with this, and I reported the problem before changing my clutch. And I'm not even going to go into where they get off claiming my exhaust system has anything to do with it!

I have spent the last couple months seriously (VERY seriously) considering just selling it because I am so upset with Honda. I think I have finally come to a decision to just fix it with a forged Kaaz diff (there's just no way to break a Kaaz diff) out of my own pocket. I'm just not up for a legal battle right now and I still love driving the car (despite the fact this car has caused me trouble since day one). But if problems continue, I may change my mind about this.

I've been reluctant to bring this up on the board as I wanted to keep my options open to selling it and I know how easily some people are spooked. I figured if I come here and say I had a bad diff and problems with Honda, no one would ever buy my car if I decide to sell it, but I wont ever try to sell the car unless it is fully working, so I hope this wont be the case. No reason why my bad luck should continue.
