If u just want all out performance, the M is better. But, IMO the M coupe is one ugly car

Don't you want a convertible, seeing how you live in Newport Beach, CA? I wouldn't miss up on the opportunity to get one if I lived there. But, if you're a racer, the M coupe is probably better, and I believe it responds better to aftermarket items.

One big difference between the two: Do you want a drop top or coupe? That answer should make things easier for you to decide.

Also, I shopped the M roadster against the S2K. It was more expensive, and I thought the clutch was too heavy for my b!tch of a daily commute in LA (as a daily driver for me).

Also note in the Marketplace KaiWang is selling his M coupe and keeping his S2K. See his reasoning there... in a nutshell it was (a) can't drop the top on the M coupe (b) he felt the S2K was more fun to drive.

That being said, I do really like the M coupe, I think it's a cool car (its unique looks have grown on me).

On the outside, I like both. To me, the S2000 just felt better - sort of an extension of me or maybe I became an extension of the car. Everything about it fit me better. The steering wheel was in the right place - the seats felt good. The transmission shifted much smoother - the M coupe one felt clunky in comparison - but then, you don't have to shift it much with all the available torque. I like to shift, especially to hear that engine over 6K. To me they are very much different cars, and I am sure after you drive both around a while, one or the other will come out a clear winner. I don't think you could lose with either choice.

And I know you will have fun deciding,
john

M Coupe. If 2001 or after, then "M COUPE!"
