Default S2000 making me proud :)

I was at my local general aviation airport (Reid Hillview in San Jose) this morning, getting ready for a flight lesson. A couple of instructors were hanging around, drinking some coffee. They both came over (just about RAN over) when I pulled up, and ogled like small children at my car.

They wanted to sit in it, listen to the engine, look in the trunk, look under the hood, etc., etc. They were amazed at the performance numbers, and all the technology the S2000 has successfully incorporated. This one guy just kept repeating 'what a great car, what a great car' over and over again.

And the lighting was just perfect -- an hour after sunrise, with nice ambient light. My car looked shinier than ever, and I was very proud to own it. I don't get many looks here in northern California where money grows on trees, so I was very happy to finally get a little ogling!

It's always nice when people run from $200,000 machines that move in three dimensions to look at your $32,000 machine that only moves in two.

You're correct about the "right" light. There are times when I park mine (you gotta go INTO work, you know!) in the morning and I have to stop and look at it for a while. Hope I never get tired of taking it all in

I hear ya... I was at a Chevron getting gas across from a Red Ferrari 360. A guy walks PAST the Ferrari, and says "Nice car", pointing at the s2k!
I said, "Thanks! What about that Ferrari? Pretty nice, eh?".
The guy says.. "Yeah, I've seen those before, though!"

Made me do this ->

Yea people always come up to me when I park in places ... You'll get used to it after awhile ... but the pride and joy never goes away.

I still look back at my S2000 every time I leave it somewhere ... over and over again. It never gets old.

A guy in a new red Lexus convertible was driving next to me in traffic the other day - he looked over and said - I like your convertible....

Kinda nice

I have a friend who rides with me sometimes and when we get stares - he always asks if it's him or the car who is getting the attention (doesn't know too much about cars). I always try to let him down gently

A few days ago, I had some ladies yell "we love your car" while I was in a parking structure.

By the way chroot, I don't think money grows on trees any longer in Northern Cal.

Yeah Mark,

There are plenty of boxters and Z3's parked on the local toyota dealer's used lot. All the dot-commies went bust, but those of us with real jobs still have money growing on trees.

Yeah...I know exactly what you mean...!

Every time I go out at least 2 people stop me throughout the day and ask me either: what kinda car is that? / how much is that? / where can I get one?

In a way I luv it...but in the other way I think it draws too much attention! I mean...its my daily driver til I get the beater...so I am almost scared sometimes to park it newhere cuz of all the commotion it stirs up!

But every time I get in it...I always smile...in a way (dont take it the wrong way)...its like losing ur virginity all over again every time I go past 6k... hehehe...I luv it!

And...I have the only one in town...so that makes it even worse...but I luv pulling up next to mustangs and bmw z3s and handing it to them...cuz then they say "what is that" "S2000...honda...just a little 4 banger"...and then they drive away...puts a on my face every time...
