long, but worth it!!

Today... was a wonderful day...

Today was the first full day for me... and my baby.

I had pulled the S out of storage on Thursday, and drove her gingerly to avoid excessive wear... I had no choice, she tends to be a little groggy after her winter sleep...

Friday morning, it was off to Tamoroff Honda we go! I pulled her into the bay, and reluctantly handed the keys to an overzealous shop employee.
"God I love this car...", he exclaimed...
"...so do I!", I quickly replied!
"I just bought a older eclipse... but man, it could never hang with one of these babies!! I love those rims! where did you get them?"
"well... it was a well earned gift for myself... I ordered them from the Tirerack... and those Eclipes are not too shabby themselves", I stated...

"Well, Mr. K'...", says Bob, the Service manager... "its been a long winter, eh?"
I say..."oh... you do not even know...!!"

Well $480 dollars later, my 30k mile service was done... and my S was officially awake and eagerly ready to go!... But... DISASTER!!!

I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me (some applications I had to see to in Kalamazoo)... but even more directly in front of me... stood the worst bumper to bumper traffic I had ever seen! This continued on for the first hour of my drive... I never really had a chance to tickle my Vtech... and oh, did I grow ever so dissapointed!

The rest of the drive... traffic was consistantly abundent. By the time I arrived to Kalamazoo... it was nearly 7 pm. ...just in time for my appointment, and by the time that was done... off to my folks for some R&R.

This morning... however... was another story... wide open highway for nearly 130 miles!! No cops... no a$$holes... no nuttin'! At times I screemed my baby up to nearly 130mph... and still had room to gently bring back to a slow purr before the next set of cars...

By the time I had made it back to Detroit... I found a couple of fella's ready to add to my fun! A older Dodge Stealth... and a... Minicooper! We all bob-and-weaved like Muhamed Ali! "Float like a butterfly... STING like a bee!"

...I managed a couple tight hairpins rather nicely as I drew closer to my house. By then, I was more content than a Fat man with some chocolate and a couple hookers!

I pulled my baby into the freshly swept garage, took a deep quaf of the freshly squeezed engine aroma... and wept ever so slightly... as I realized what I had missed for SUCH A LONG IN' WINTER!!

One thing I did realize, however... I must have grown immune, or overly exposed to it before... but man, people are a$$holes! For months, I could cut people off left and right in my Explorer... but in the S... its a whole nother story. I found numerous situtations, where I tailed someone no further then they tailed the vehicle in front of them... but yet... I was the jerk!??? ...in another particular situation... I passed a young couple in a newer, base model Civic... with a gentleman driving (coincidentily... the SAME car my GIRLfriend drives!! ). I expected a smile or a thumbs up.... but instead...

The assclown gestured a to his girlfriend in reference to my car as I glanced back in the rearview!!

...oh, to pity the lesser folk!

I think having to store your S during the winter is reason enough to move to warmer climates like Texas or Florida. I could NEVER live up north.

What you just explained is what I feel every morning when I get up from bed to go to work.

I think people hate the s2000 is because of the HID's. Every little bump you go over creates a little bright flash in our side and rear view mirrors. It's so incredibly annoying to be cruising behind an s2000.

Big Ben I have to disagree... Multipy that feeling you have each morning jumping into your S by about 1000 and you will understand the masochistic delight of putting the car away for a 5 month hibernation. I'd live up north just to feel the way I am going to the day I throw the battery back in and fire her up!

You must be a freak behind closed doors. I guess if you are into getting teased, then the great white north is for you. But I need it on a regular, everyday basis.......Vtec that is.

Nuttin like the feeling of being able to jump in your ride and just drop the top even though it's 50* out. No salt on the roads, no snow to hassle with, just cruising
