Now that our children are out of the house, I want to get my wife and myself back into the feel of the open air. Has anyone struggled over a roadster or a motorcycle? If so, could you share how you dealt with it.

I got the bike a few years ago (Feb 98). It was great, but the old lady's butt must've gotten a bit stiff over the years because she didn't like ridin' on the back for much more than 10 or 15 minutes. And I had to wear long sleeves if I rode to work (USAF rules, + vest etc.) and when the temps are over 100 (most of the summer) it was inconvenient to stop and change clothes coming on and leaving base. Then if it's less than 50 degrees (F) it's rather uncomfortably cold. And then the summer thunderstorms would usually catch me a couple times a year ...
A bit more expensive than the Suzuki, the s2k takes care of all the bike's shortfalls , AND the openness of the scooter.
If you can only have one, get the S2000.

The S2000 is as close as you can get to a motorcycle on street legal four wheels. That is not close.

 

I agree with everyone else that says buy both, I have a Harley and now the S2000, nothing but fun!

 

I had a bike and the S2000 at the same time. I've been riding for over 35 years. The bike is now gone. I didn't see any sense (with my current life style) of having 2 motorcycles (one of which has 4 wheels) when the two wheeled one just sat in the garage whenever I wanted to go out to have a "blast".

If you have the means, I would suggest you get an S2000. I have an S2000, and a motorcycle (RZ 350).

Riding the bike is great- it's so light and nimble, often it feels like I am "one with the machine". Also, for adrenaline junkies, the bike is king! If you like making this face: then a bike should be in your future.

Surprisingly (with the top down), the S2000 gives a much greater "open air" feeling than the bike. No helmet makes a huge difference. The S2000 also has the right stuff, and will provide a sensational performance buzz. -Not to mention the huge convenience factor, compared to a bike (except for parking!).

On an interesting note I know that the Honda M/C R&D group looks down upon the Car group, but there is a definitive O.K. for the S2000, because it is as close a car can get to a motorcycle.
