Default S2000 named one of top 20 most dangerous vehicles

forbes.com story

According to this story, we are number 18 out of 20 to be the most dangerous vehicles to drive around. Go figure.

I would have to agree. Lots and lots of ricer wrecks with this car. And quite a few dry, flat, just cruising and the back end came out stories.

There might be a few of the "dry, flat, & the back end came around" stories but I DON'T buy ANY of those for a second. This is one of the most stable cars I have ever owned. That excuse is nothing more than an "excuse" for lack of talent, judgment, or pride.

Basically, cars without side air bags are labeled as "dangerous" in the test methodology.

The S2000 has no patience for bad driving - you mess up and the S will bite you.

but it has a 5 star side and rollover rating and did very well on accident avoidance. I think the only thing they hit it on was not having side curtain air bags

Precisely.

Other vehicles offer stronger feedback prior to breakaway.

The S is stickier, but with a VERY shocking/limited/surprise factor transition from eating the curves to getting eaten.

Folks will come brag about how it's driver fault, it would never happen to them, it would never happen to a GOOD driver. But in then end, there are 'good' drivers that this happens to quite often.
