To S2000 or not to S2000?
Jerome,
I am 6'2" about 175 lbs and I fit in the S2000 like a glove. And that's also why I didn't get the Miata. For a long time, Miata was my first choice. But the tight fit made it impossible for me to get comfortable in the Miata, especially the newer Miatas. It was so disappointing because I absolutely love the looks of the Miata, even more so than the S2000. Of course, the 240hp in the S2000 didn't hurt in convincing me to get the S.

Exactly, Coraldoc is absolutely right, ignore the spec sheets (I don't even know what the numbers say), but S2000 has SIGNIFICANTLY more head and leg room than the Miata. I am SO comfortable in the S2000, not so in the Miata.
I was debating this for a couple months too, S2K vs. Boxster S. and then one day one of my friends told me if you really like cars you wouldn't care what badge is on the hood. so I decide to get the S2000 cause they kinda have the same performances figures and the S2K is 20k less. Also the aftermarket parts are much cheaper than the Porsche.
Guys, a big part of the negative about the Borsch Poxster (is that a toxic and contagious Russian soup?!
) is the sheer yuppie image associated with it. I do not think it is an attractive vehicle - it looks like a 1960s Kharmann Ghia on steroids (P.S. I also despise the looks of the Audi TT - my colleague at work cannot live it down everytime I ask him how his VW Beetle is doing).
IMHO a vehicle should be long, low and sleek - I think the Miata achieves this better than the Stook but both are way out in front of the German (I cring to use the word) "competition".
Both of the Japanese vehicles look like they were designed 40 years after the Germans - they are genuine modern vehicles instead of trying to be retro.
I think this typified by the number of vehicles used purely as boulevard cruisers. I guarantee there is a much higher percentage of Stook owners who use their vehicles on the track compared with the others discussed above.
