S2000+NSX accident
There was an car accident due to a street race between one eariler model NSX and a brand new S2000 in Vancouver few days ago. Both drivers are very young, one is 17 and another is 23. From what I've heard, these two cars were racing to each other on the street and one car (not sure it was the S2K or the NSX) lost control and crashed into another. I think both drivers were fine, but it's just so sad to see those fine sports car got crashed.
Well, at least no one was killed. Did everyone hear of the tragedy that occured about a year ago in Vancouver that involved a souped up RX-7, a yellow Boxster and one other car that were drag racing? The Boxster hit a pedestrian crossing the street and threw the poor being something like 100 yards. There was a huge manhunt for the car and driver and after about a week he finally turned himself in.
Please be careful out there.

Yeah, I read/heard about the rx-7 and yellow boxter news.
There're actually many nice cars got crashed due to street racing recently, from what I could recall, rx-7, boxter, type r, camero, corvette, 330ci..to the most recent nsx and s2000. Some of these accident involved death, some didn't. Please drive safely.

I just love to push my car hard but it is always on quiet country highways (like the A343 or even in short bursts on the A303).
However, racing in the street is just crazy. We all know about the risks but there is also that other reason:
How uncool would these 2 drivers look launching their cars at 7,000 RPM (Sounding like a washing machine on spin)? Onlookers would just think that they were a pair of kn*bs (which they were, of-course).
One of the incidental reasons I do not try high launches and fast away from the lights starts is that to achieve good ones we have to have the engine screaming. This completely blows the subtle and strong image of my car to those admiring passersby.
