Default S2000 on the Nurburgring ?

Anyone know of any videos of the S on the Nurburgring or maybe just some lap times? I'm just curious how it compares to some other cars on the Ring.

Thanks

I have the BMI #1 vid on VHS; at the end there's bonus footage of the S2000 at the 'Ring (complete lap, full balls-to-the-wall). I clocked it manually at 8:12 BTG - pretty damn good.

Now if only I could get a TV tuner I'd host the vid...

8:39 by a pro driver driving for Sports Auto. Compare that to these times but the same driver/magazine:
- 911 GT3 = 8:03
- F360 = 8:09
- NSX-R = 8:09
- Viper = 8:10
- SL55 AMG = 8:12
- 911 = 8:17
- e46 M3 = 8.22
- EVO VI = 8:24
- BoxsterS = 8:32

The NSX-R is faster than that. Gan San got a 7:56 in the BM Video Special #55.

Alex, I like your time of 8:12..........

the others kinda disappoint me. It's seems that just about everything is faster than our S.

Is it because of the rough surface of the Ring? Or am I just making excuses.

Actually, J.T the 8:12 S2000 time is BTG (bridge to gantry). Because the Nordschleife is blocked off halfway down the front straight (this is where the entrance/exit is located), it is impossible to record a full lap. Instead, the 'Ringers start there laptime under neath the 'bridge' and finish it at the overhead 'gantry.' To compensate for the time unaccounted for on the straightaway, it's common practice to add ~30sec to the BTG time to get a full lap.

Do a factor including the MSRP and you'll found the S2000 heads the list.

Different driver, different day etc. The times I listed (and FCGuy) are all by the same driver, very similar conditions and 100% stock.

Well look at the cars that are faster there than the S2000. That's all very serious machinery and frankly the S2000 did well to get that time with what it's got.

If you like I can post some slower times as well as there's a lot of cars slower than the S2000 at both N'ring and H'heim KK. Though, for the moment here's some newr times by some newer cars (again, same driver):
- Porsche Boxster '03. 228 PS. 1375kg 2003-02-01, sport auto Supertest = 8:36
- BMW Z3 Coupe 3.0. 231 PS. 1350 kg 2001-04-04, sport auto Supertest = 8:34
- Audi RS 6. 450 PS. 1908 kg 2002-09-01, sport auto Supertest = 8:20
- Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. 469 PS. 1888 kg 2003-01-01, sport auto Supertest = 8:17
- Porsche 911 turbo (993). 430 PS. 1506 kg 1997-05-01, sport auto Supertest = 8:12
- Ferrari 575M Maranello. 515 PS. 1775 kg 2002-12-01, sport auto Supertest = 8:05
- Pagani Zonda S. 555 PS. 1388 kg 2002-07-01, sport auto Supertest = 7:44
