^^^^ what song is that?

Last holiday in Sweden I've driven SLOWLY over rough roads (roadworks) for 20-25 miles without problems.
Mad Swedish drivers in their 4x4 Volvo's passed me as if I wasn't moving at all

Dude, I can't believe you Dad even asked you this. If he was smart, he would have just rent a car. Not only will you be pissed if something did happen to the S, but he would have to cough up some money to help you with the damage.

Dude!

Just rent him a car. If you want to help him out, rent him a car. If he needs a ride, rent him a car. If you owe him a favor, rent him a car.

Then, he does not have to worry about damaging it, driving it hard, parking at the grocery or at work and getting dings, hitting potholes, gravel falling off a truck in front, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

He can rag out the rental (or not), and have a complete peace of mind. You will in turn have a complete peace of mind.

Even if he drives like a granny and babies your car, there are way to many other variables here. Car rentals are soooooo cheap in comparison.

I think my owners manual even say's something like "the S2000 is meant to be driven on well maintained paved roads" (not verbatim).
Well that rules out most of Los Angeles...

Ok, so you loan it, then get it back in pristine shape.

A week or month or 3 months later, the fuel door or trunk release does not work, it idles rough, it drips oil, you get CEL, or it won't vtec...dealer tells you there was an over-rev. Dad says no way, but you were not there. You don't know. You find yourself in a bad place between your car, your dealer and your dad.

Why?

Cause you did not rent a car!!! Do it for yourself, your car, and your dad. Why strain family relations? Why risk so many unfavorable scenarios?

Even if your Dad is more cautious and caring than yourself, and he truely has not contributed to this future problem, he might feel to blame, he might worry that you blame him. Spare him this.

Rent a car.

LOL... thanks for all the concern guys, but its ok. i drove on those roads back and forth already. it is not bad AT ALL. driving 8 mph it would be considered pretty smooth for being dirt. i told him to drive slow. hes driven it up to his house before and i saw him coming with my car, he drives more cautious than i do. im not worried one bit, because i know that if my dad damages anything, he can fix it anyways or he'll pay for it. hes a machanic that i trust everything with. only concern i had really was my shocks, but its all good. shocks are replaceable.

OK, well you've made up your mind. You're a good son. I'm sure your dad will take good care of it.
