Strangest thing just happened:

I was getting gas (for tomorrow's Fall Colors Meet), two guys in a Volvo wagon drive into the gas station next to me, take my car's picture, and then drive out of the station on their way...

Do they have a class scavenger hunt where they are instructed to find a gorgeous modded silver/red S2000?!

 

We get a lot of weird stuff like that in Houston. The strangest for me has been flying by a car only to realize they're videotaping you. Happened more than once, oddly enough.

I have had my, er, I should say that my car has been photographed 7 times...I did happen to be in it, but I don't think they wanted me in the shot.

 

I had two kids in a station wagon behind me at a light once. One of the kids whips out his camcorder and starts recording me. I of course gave them a wave.

 

stopped for gas once in northern NJ and the gas station guy asked if it would be ok for him to take a picture of my car...i said sure why not...that was fun....always some guy with a camcorder videotaping me at street races...that i don't like....i mean i don't like evidence you know.

 

I was in the car with my brother on Westheimer when a kid yelled out nice car and I quickly saw a flash. Damn, we cracked up.

 

Did any of you think that a couple of those people taking pictures are scouting for cars to steal?
I doubt the kids are doing this, but i have heard that s2000s are very popular targets for theft.
One guy in florida told me he has gone threw 3 s2000's---ALL OF THEM WERE STOLEN IN DIFFERENT PLACES!!

 

Actually the theft rate of the car is very low....main problem is young driver accidents (Source: State Farm Insurance Actuarials). If your friend claims to have gone thru three for theft you might want to question your friends integrity. Here we know the only one to go through three is "Lisa"; and none were due to theft....

 

I was sitting at a light the other day. A bunch of kids in a Ford Exploder pulled up behind me and one of them pulled out a video camera and started taping me. I gave them a wave and thought it would be cool for them if I gave a little show. Soooo, I rev it to 7k, dump the clutch and gave them a little smokey burnout ( ground was just a little damp so it made for a nice show). At the next light the kids pulled up next to me and the one with the camera said "hey man, we just wanted a shot of your car don't have to get all pissed...asshole" and then took off. Beats the hell out of me. I thought it would be cool. Oh well.
