Default S2000 parts for Acura Legend RWD conversion

This is kinda a long story, so bear with me.

I'm in the process of modding my G2 Acura Legend. I have 1999 RL C35A to throw in w/a 6MT from a 95 Legend. I have a Rotrex C38-81 s/c that I'll be installing in the next few months. With Idlewild's help, I was able to import a RHD S2K steering rack from Australia, and I put the EPS in the Legend so I can have some space for the piping for the intercooler and what not.

I'm projecting to make 400-500 lb/ft of torque, and needed a clutch to handle it. There's only one company currently making a clutch capable of handling it, SPEC, and I do not want a SPEC clutch in my car. The fact that it's always on or always off coupled w/the extensive amount of chatter dissuades me. I contacted RPS about getting a clutch, but they said I'd have to wait a year to get on their production schedule, and they'll have to have an order of at least 10 @ a price of $1000 each. This pushed me on to ACT, and I've been speaking w/one of their engineers. I sent them a Legend clutch and flywheel, and after about a week, they made an interesting discovery: their lightweight S2K flywheel could be customized a bit to allow fitment on the Legend, so that I can use their S2K clutch. I quickly rationalized the following: if the S2K clutch setup can be used, if I could get an adapter plate to mate up the S2K tranny to the 3.5, and possibly an extension to extend the drive shaft to the diff, I can convert my car to RWD.

This is where you guys come in. I figure I'll need the complete hub assemblies and suspension from both sides, the tranny, the diff, the axles, and the drive shaft. My questions are:

1) Which is the better diff? The AP2 or the AP1?
2) Which is the better tranny? The AP2 or the AP1?
3) Anyone have any of this stuff they want to donate on the CHEAP for this project? I'm not sure the tranny will fit quite yet, but I suspect it will.
4) Any Austin, TX members around that have a spare tranny so I can get some measurements?
5) Any other recommendations from anyone?

My build thread: http://forums.acuralegend.org/building-wha...name-t1899.html

Thanks, fellas.

AP2 for both. But both will break with that kind of power. Upgrades to both are $$$$. You're looking at straight cut gears and an R200 conversion. That's on the order of $7000 when you're all said and done.

Given that you can buy a lightly boosted S2000 for $15k, I don't really get the motivation for the Legend conversion.

Well, for my 2 seater, I'm looking to pick up an MKIV at the end of 2010. This is just a project that I'm working on. Regarding the diff and tranny, I saw a video of a 700+ hp S2k w/a stock diff and tranny on YouTube.....?

700hp on stock rear end can and has been done.

But you will blow the rear end... It's just a manner of time.

If you do some more searching on this site you'll see dozens of blown trannies and diffs at >500hp.

We've blown two OEM differentials and currently have a Nissan / custom rear end.

Nobody in their right mind would look to source an S2000 rear and tranny as a high hp solution.

It's our weakest link and the thing we'd like to change.

Information that you're providing is why I'm asking here. I figured you guys would know best. So the tranny wouldn't hold the power, either? Are they going after extended use or in short order?

The FI subforum has a lot of good info. The archives have a lot of threads discussing historical circumstances. I wouldn't say extended use. Maybe 1-2 years? But that's a rough guess.
