S2000 place of manufacture question?
I've read on the forum that Honda has recently changed the location of the plant that makes the S2000. I've tried a general search but am not really finding what I'd like to know.
Does anyone know if Honda has finished the relocation and resumed production? If so, would you happen to know if they're continuing 2004 models or gearing up for 2005?
Just wondering! Thanks!

No way in hell the location of manufacture would be relocated. The plant in Takanezawa, Tochigi, Japan is where the S2000 is assembled. In order to manufacture it elsewhere, Honda would have had to build another High-tech plant facility, which they do not need to do as far as I'm aware of.
The S2000 is built side-by-side next to the NSX. Why would they relocate?
Thanks for the replys. I know I've seen this on the forum and finally found something but nothing that addresses my question as to whether or not Honda has resumed production. Actually, I'm not sure that the relocation has been confirmed so if anyone has information they think is reliable, please comment. The link below is where I got the idea that the manufacturing location changed.

The relocation to Suzuka is a SURE fact and resulted in a temporary halt of S2000 production (as well as the NSX i suppose). I know for sure as it caused an order back-log of 3 months in the JD market, and the reason given by Honda dealers is the relocation. As to whether this move is finished, i don't know. However, i firmly believe they will resume the MY 2004 production, because the dealers confirmed i could be delivered this summer, when i enquired about a purchase this spring.
Oh and by the way, they say there will be little to no change at all on the 2005. No mention ever of discontinuing it. So far everything they had told me turned out to be true (see my previous posts on this forum, about engine displacement for ex.).

The down side is that I was "really" psyched to try to get one by July. If that doesn't happen, it'll be a let down but no big deal. On the up side, I'll have a couple more months to add to the down payment and I'll be more likely to take delivery of a car that's fresh off the truck which is really what I'd prefer anyway.

Thanks for the input guys!

I retract my statement.
this is interesting. apparently, it sounds like they're bringing the assembly to the same place where the engine is built.
i wonder if the process' remains the same.
