Default The S2000 in pouring, torrential rain

Hi. Hurricane Ernesto is heading my way in NoVa and they are predicting pouring, heavy, torrential rain. I have never driven my S2000 in this kind of weather before. Now that my S is my only car and my daily driver, what is the best way to drive it in this kind of weather? Can it handle this kind of weather? How best to drive it and survive?

Also, can you give some tips on how to keep water out of the interior when getting in and out of the car?

Slow down.
Don't drive through deep water.
(there may be holes you can not see)
Be really quick getting in/out of your car.

IMO the softtop is all weather proof.
But it is a softtop, so do not expect a complete 100% seal.
Grease up the seals with silicone grease.

Park where your car is protected from flying debris.

just take corners at low speed and low revs... just at easy...
if you're not used to it, don't vtec with lots of rain, or practise on a parkinglot

Thanks for the help. My seals are well-greased. My S and I will survive. The HID headlights are strong. I will stay at low revs. Wish me luck. My S is a survivor. It will take care of me. I take care of it.

the best way to protect the car is to rent another car to drive during the hurricane...

I experienced very minimal leak in the seal near the window when driving it during stonr rain...

Car was not designed to withstand this kind of wheather...try as much as possible to avoid this. The cost of renting will probably be lower than if you break something on the car driving it in hurricane type wheather.

If you have a CAI don't drive. If you have the stock intake you should not have problems.

Nova? your sig says San Diego...I confused.

I'm in NoVa and the weather this AM said up to 2 inches of rain on Friday with possible localized heavy downpours.

Having a cheap beater car with good all season tires FTW!!!

I think if you just slow down, and drive like a granny, you are all good
