Default S2000 pulls a jet ski?

I am looking to order a hitch for it. The jet ski weighs 433 lbs (dry weight) plus the trailer about 200 lbs (total under 700lbs).

Anybody ever done this? I am only 6 miles away from the lake.

I know the manual says no to towing, but the manual doesn't approve us driving crazy or modifying it .

EDIT: Sorry I wasn't sure if you were asking for a hitch recommendation or just if anyone has ever done it. I know people have towed small boats...not sure if that counts as a jetski or not.

I did see the chase hitch from another thread, a little overprice. I can get the curt hitch for less than 160 shipped.

I've seen a few guys towing motorcycles on a trailer. You'll probably have to change your clutch sooner than expected if you do it a lot.

I guess it could. However the owner manual says the car is not designed for towing. But if you do it nice and slow I guess there won't be any harm.

Many of us are towing small trailers with track tires and tools. I think mine is just over 500lbs loaded. I've probably put over 10k towing miles on the S with this setup with zero issues. The jet ski is heavier, but for the short distance you are talking about, I would bet it will be fine. Especially if it is relatively flat ground with few stops on the way. My only concern would be how far down the ramp you have to go and if you would have the traction to pull it out of the water.

The Chase hitch is a quality piece. Requires no drilling and can be removed in seconds when not in use.

What is up with all of these people trying to tow things with their roadsters?

If I had a jet ski and could only have one vehicle for towing and daily driving, you can be damn sure it wouldn't be an SUV or pickup.
