PM sent.

I don't think I'd be comfortable driving someone elses car that I just met. A ride will be sufficient.

I'm going to have a real real early morning ahead of me...

Well, today was a success. Thanks to Matt (Slacker) I have a test drive set up for Monday evening in an 06 Suzuka Blue. The blue interior isn't necessarily my cup o tea, but we'll see if it grows on me. I can honestly say that there are very few cars that have made me smile from the passenger seat. One being a completely restored 65 Mustang Fastback, another being my old MR2, another being my buddies RX8 and now I can add Matt's 07 to the list. Even though we couldn't really find any twisty roads, the on/off ramps were a blast. I'll go snag a picture of the ramp right outside base, but not right now because I'm getting told we're in a tornado warning

Reminds me of home. ::sniffle::

I'm pretty sure I have to get one now...not like RIGHT now, but when I get back from deployment.

Man, that really gives you something sweet to look forward to upon your return.
Anticipation can be a big part of the fun.

If you're ever down here in central Georgia, let me know, and if we can get together, I'll take you for a ride that'll make you grin.

So glad to hear that you finally got to have a test drive in an S 2000 and that you liked it!

As a fellow Okie, however, I must say that if you miss the tornadoes we have here, you must be REALLY homesick!

I haven't actually driven one yet. I got a "test ride". I will pilot one Monday come hell or high water. (Which now that I think of it is probably an Okie saying as I've not heard anyone else say that. Ever.)

I do indeed miss Oklahoma. I love tornado season (I think like one has hit Edmond/come close in the past 25 years). There are probably few things that compare to the colours that the sky can turn right before it hits. The northern lights are probably comparable however. The smell of a tornado is unique and intoxicating (IMO).

As to driving an S 2000, I sure do hope you get to do so. And soon. It has been a real shame that the dealers have not allowed a member of our military a test drive, and they should all damn well be ashamed.

Tornado season? Well, you can't really appreciate it until one of the TV stations shows an F5 tornado with a bead drawn on your $XXX,XXX house. You lose your appreciation for them very quickly.

We have a tornado watch here today. Not among my favorite things.

Luckily I'm not a home owner. I can see how that would be concerning though. I don't expect any sort of special treatment being in the military. I'm sure they still see me as a kid. Like I said, after work Monday I'll be smiling ear to ear.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard anyone say they were lucky not to own their own home, but maybe you're right.

After your drive why don't you start a new thread giving your impressions?
