s2000 road trip
I have made some 1k+ mile stints in my S. However since I have got the single, after a few hours it does become a little, well, trying, but after a couple of spirited passes I would convince myself it is worth it
The only problem I have on longer trips is my legs tend to get 'jumpy'. However this happens in any car I have driven, I think it has more to do with my ADD then anything. On occasion my right leg would get unconfy, mostly from resting at an angle against the center consoule.

Doable = yes.
Worth doing = yes.
Just plain stupid = no.
Take your time though.
Stay off the highways, stay along the coast in CA going north.
With one or two?
Luggage is a compromise.
Travel light
Last summer to Sweden, about 4200 m, no problemo, in 16 days.
Car didn't get annoying at all.
Have FUN!
(damn.. wish to go too....

I put about 6000 miles on my S2000 back in July of 2005, driving from the Texas Gulf Coast to San Francisco and back. That also included a lot of detouring to catch what looked like some of the nicer roads north and south of the Bay area. I had a great time and the car did just fine. No comfort issues, at least for me, and fuel economy was better than I expected it to be.
As for going all the way to Alaska in one, that would be one hell of a trip. The only thing I'd worry about is that the roads in northern Canada aren't always in the best of condition. My Dad took a motorcycle trip to Alaska and ran through a fair amount of dirt roads in the Yukon territories and some of that was in the rain. I'd do as much research as possible to be certain of the road conditions you're likely to be getting into before leaving on such a trip, especially in a car like the S2000.
Good luck & Drive Safe,
Steve R.

But yes def would do it agian if i had a different exhaust.I cant tell you how many complements i got on the car on the way down.Seemed like every stop. And it was stock at the time

On such a long road trip, what is the checklist/precautionary measures you do on your car before you leave?
Change oil, check tire pressures and tread wear, brake pads.
Are there any others?
I'd be interested in driving from Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne-Perth and back sometime soon in Australia

I drove from Anchorage, Alaska to Little Rock, Arkansas (in a Toyota Tacoma) about two years ago, and the only part that was not paved was about a 30mile stretch that they were working on. If you go in the spring/summer all of the gas stations are open, as most of them are seasonal. I would recommend once you get below half a tank, stop and get gas, because you never know how far it will be to the next station. You will also have a hard time finding premium unleaded, as most of the gas stations along the way only have regular or diesel. I drove the western part of Canada, north from Seattle and it was some awesome scenery and I hope to do it again some day. Oh yeah, watch out for wildlife darting accross the road, especially as you get farther north. That's about all the advice I can think of at the moment.
