Good point. You will not get new parts. I had a car stolen a few years back. They took seats, sun roof and wheels. The insurance company will only give you USED parts. I got scratched wheels, scratched sunroof and natty seats as replacements for my pristine ones. They are fueling the theft by only replacing with the used poarts that have probably been stolen. If they replaced with new parts only it would help eliminate the market for stolen ones.
So they don't write you out a check or anything like that for you to choose your seats? Then what exactly happens, they just grab a bunch of used parts from the pick n pull?

The liability your insurance company would have to absorb for replacing parts with used parts would be tremendous. If this actually happenned to you, you're not dealing with an insurance company but scam artists.

Well, only 40 owners out of 140 sent in their payment. I guess it has to do with my request for proof of ownership.

[COLOR=blue][QUOTE] JDMoMo:
from what I hear...they're pretty good locks...but it pissed me off when he asked me for a copy of S2k ownership papers and insurance information and something else by email...though I needed them for my DC2...and beside, I don't see why people would need to give a copy of those papers for......but ya, he'll sell them for around $60 or so from what I hear.....However, I did find an alternative and new sets of bolts....but I don't wanna mess with Kodokan's business because he spent a lot of time and money on these bolts so yes, you guys buy them

My response:

I requested a copy a of your registration, to verify that you are an S2000 owner.

I also stated that you should block out the VIN. That way, the only info listed is your name, adress and vehicle type. I already have your name and address to send the Locks, so I'm really not getting any other personal info for you.

If you send a copy of your insurance card and block out the VIN, the only other info is the name of your insurance company. I don't think that's a big deal. [I use Esurance - =) ]

It may sound like an unusual request, but I don't want to sell the Seat Locks to non-owners/thieves.

-Pete
Did you recieved my payment yet Pete?
