Default S2000 Seats from the Dealership

I have heard rumors, correct me if i'm wrong. i heard that a pair of s2000 seats run about $6,000. Is this true? does anyone have a link to Honda or parts cost for the seats. Also heard if your seats get stolen that your s2000 is totaled/salvaged....i really don't believe the price can anyone prove me wrong.

Tom

That is correct... I believe this cost includes the rails and everything..

Here is a link for all the prices seperately...

Also make sure you are looking at the list price as thats what the parts dept would most likely quote you... so adding everything up does get pretty costly...

As far as the insurance places salvaging the S due to stolen ones.. I believe that does happen to the older ones.. 00-01 since the value has dropped quite a bit.. but I can't say I know anyone firsthand that it happened to.. I THINK I remember seeing that on these boards before tho..

Yeah, I have read somewhere that insurance might total older models if the seats are stolen. This actually sounds like a good deal. Turn something bad into good.

Stolen seats -> salvage -> buy it back -> find aftermarket seats or used S seats + pocket money!

thanks beanolo and itsben, much appreciated. i know there is a thread already, but anywhere to buy seat locks? i saw that Mcguard was a groupbuy a while ago. haven't seen them in the groupbuy section. anyone know where to get them or should i just get someone to weld my bolts down to the chassis? sounds like a bad idea to me...thanks everyone for the help.

Kodokan(something) on this board hosted that GB for seat locks and so far those are the only ones ever out.. I believe he is starting another GB soon.. so aside from those there really is no other option..

I wouldn't go as far as welding my seats down, I would jus settle for aftermarket seats if my insurance let me
