s2000 spin out
With in 5 minutes of delivery of my S I slipped the rear-end a bit getting on an onramp; I corrected it out, went on my way, and said "holy shit this thing is touchy." Nine months later, I spun out because I took a corner too fast after it had freshly rained in California - I didn't think I was going too fast but the road was like ice at that turn. I kissed a cliff face and had to get a new bumper.
Later, on a road trip to Canada, in the rain and with poorly maintained tires, I met an onramp that was a constant tight turn with about 50 feet of room to accelerate before the merge into the number 2 lane. My native friend gave me advice on how to handle this ass of an on-ramp and I started my approach. Out of the corner of my eye I caught I car coming in the lane I needed to merge into and it looked like we were going to meet. I instantly reacted and for some reason made the (really poor) decision to floor it. Instantly my shift-beeper is screaming it's head off with a steady tone, the car is turning sideways, my passenger is looking at the car behind me through the passenger window and I see the car I thought I might hit go by in my rear view mirror. I cranked on the wheel and slid the car back onto the freeway, straight on the lane, and we finished the drive up to Whistler.
My passenger was awesome - didn't even twitch. When I asked him why he just said "oh bah I looked over and you were doing the right thing but the old woman behind us in the Merc was honking so hard her dentures fell out."

How can a thread be so full of Win and Fail at the same time? I believe this is called Epic?

Mistakes happen. And on public streets, with guardrails, and semi trucks around every corner, I prefer my car to work with me, not against me.
Isn't an AP1's snap oversteer issues a direct result of toe changes mid-corner? The outer wheel generally experiences toe in while the inner wheel experience toe out...causing the ass to slip out? Yes? Simple suspension tweaking can squelch this problem.
