I have mine dialed in quite nicely.

There is a Faq on reseting the output of our power steering.
Would that be this FAQ?

I imagine the steering comment has a lot to do with our electric power steering. I love the consistent somewhat heavy feel I get. It doesn't get light at speed or extra heavy in parking lots. But it does contribute to a slight lack of road feel.

the steering wheel feels great and the EPS is perfect. the only issue with the S2K's steering i have ever noticed is that their isn't much feedback through the wheel about what is going on with the car. you get a heck of a lot more feedback through the chassis. Personally, either on is fine with me...as long as i'm getting some!! Also, the bump steer is pretty gnarly at high speed cornering...corners faster then 100...especially if there are even slight bumps on the road. But, there are fixes for this.

The steering in the s2k is quicker, more precise, but more numb than that in an E36 M3, as well as the Boxster I recently drove.

I figured because it was electric, the steering could be adjusted - that link to the FAQ...don't know if i would feel comfortable doing that myself...krasik, did you adjust the steering yourself?

What the heck are you talking about? I would love to have heavier steering but see no way of acomplishing that.

I side with the people that complain about the lack of feel. This is not to be confused with directness or weight. I have no complain with directness and would like a heavier steering. Feeling is another subject altogether.

It goes something like this: tyre coefficient of friction increases with slip angle (the angle between the direction you are travelling and the direction your tyres are pointing) up to a certain point and then goes off rapidly. With good steering you can actually feel this. As you apply more and more lock, you can feel the steering getting heavier and heavier and then rapidly lighter. The point where it starts to lighten up is your advance warning that you are about to loose it. Try it in different cars and you'll see what I mean.

The S2000 is particularly dumb in this respect. Just feels like nothing is happening. I once drove without the EPS on and things improved but it just wasn't practical for everyday living. Still looking for solutions.

I do not see any adjustments possible with the EPS system (except for learning the neutral position). I think that caster adjustments make the largest difference in steering feel, so perhaps that is what the comment refers to.

I agree that the steering feel is not up to that offered by a BMW or Porsche, but after bitching for the first six weeks or so I have become acclimated to it.

Don't forget that steering feel is strongly a function of the car's alignment. Without knowing the car's alignment comparisons are not meaningful in my opinion. Both front and rear settings are important.
